NDIS ACCESS QUICK GUIDE

Help to understand your next step.

You can contact us before you have an NDIS plan. We can help you understand the process, organise next steps and connect with the right people.

With your consent, MVC can help you prepare questions and identify supporting information to discuss with your treating professionals. You choose who is involved. We provide practical help with the process; the NDIA makes access decisions.

I want to apply for the NDIS

Start by speaking with an NDIS partner or calling the NDIA on 1800 800 110. They can explain access requirements and how to apply. Your treating professionals help provide evidence about your disability and its impact on daily life.

We can help you organise the steps, prepare for conversations and find the right contacts.

Read the official NDIS application steps.

My application was unsuccessful

Read the reasons in your decision letter. You can ask the NDIA to explain the decision and request an internal review if you disagree. The NDIA says to request this within 3 months of receiving the decision.

We can help you organise questions, discuss the next steps and identify information to raise with your treating professionals. We can also help you connect with an appropriate NDIS contact or independent advocate. We cannot guarantee acceptance or a changed decision.

Read the NDIA's decision-review guidance and time limits.

What should I share with MVC first?

Your name, suburb, preferred contact method and a brief description of what you need help with. You do not need to upload your full plan or health records to make an enquiry. If more information is needed, we will discuss how to share it.

INFORMATION FOR REFERRERS

A straightforward referral conversation.

We welcome enquiries from participants, families, support coordinators and other referrers. If you are contacting us for someone else, please make sure you have their permission to share their information.

For an initial enquiry, a name, preferred contact method, suburb and brief outline of the support sought is enough. Please do not send a full NDIS plan, identity documents or detailed health information through the website form.

Enquire or make a referral

Questions are welcome.

Can I contact MVC before deciding?

Yes. An enquiry gives you the opportunity to ask questions and understand your options before making a decision.

What if I am changing providers?

Tell us what you would like from your next provider. We can discuss your preferences, availability and the practical steps involved.
